About

Hey! Iā€™m Mandy Miller, the writer and painter and photographer behind this site. Elizabeth Barrett Browning once said, "Earth's crammed with Heaven, and every common bush aflame with God, but only he that sees takes off his shoes."  I understand this.  I'm a "take off your shoes" and also a "stop and smell the roses" sort of girl. I began painting with oils in 2012, however my painting changed slightly after emergency brain surgery in 2021. I still do paint abstracts because I believe I can say things clearer sometimes with brightly colored paints. Flowers are my love language however, so I began painting mostly flowers after surgery. I love to capture their imperfections in each piece I paint. I wrote a book recently explaining why I do so. I do it mainly to remind any viewers of my work that imperfections are what makes life beautiful.
